D Visa Appointments
D visas will be issued only to applicants who are
scheduled for an appointment, on their appointment day.
Applicants without appointments assigned by HIAS-OPE
will not be admitted to the Consular premises in
Tehran.
ALL family members must be present and not late for
their scheduled appointment.
They should arrive 20 minutes before their appointment
and no sooner.
These appointments cannot be rescheduled!
It is mandatory that you attend your assigned
appointment.
If you do miss your appointment, you must apply for a
new one, and submit the necessary documents in the
original Farsi and English translation as a pdf. file
supporting why you missed your appointment to
arrival@hias-vienna.at
The appointments are listed below by case number, and
notification will be sent to the agency that filed your
application.
Additionally, the OPE will attempt to contact applicants
aged 55 and older by phone to notify them of their
appointments.
Please note that the appointments below are not final
and are subject to change. As the list is
continuously updated, it is your responsibility to
keep yourself updated with any changes made to your
appointments.
Required documentation
Applicants must bring all of the following with
them when reporting to the Embassy:
1.
Passports (must be valid for at least one year
beyond the appointment date)
2.
Completed Visa Application Form – one for each
separate passport (Download

3.
IR or AU case number, otherwise you will not be
permitted to complete the D Visa application
4.
2 passport photographs for each family member,
conforming to ICAO standards (download
photo standards here). One photo must be glued
onto the application form, the other attached by
paperclip
5.
Completed Medical Questionnaire

6.
Proof of full medical insurance for travel purposes and
accidents with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
Insurance policies from any legitimate company
are accepted (including Iran, Asia, Alborz and Dana)
Those aged 85 and over must find alternative insurance
policies issued from Europe and available for purchase
on the internet.
7. The
paperwork must be in the following order (Top to
Bottom):
1) Application form (with two photos as described above)
completed and signed;
2) Medical questionnaire, completed and signed;
3) Copies of insurance policy
8.
The family must also pay the visa application fee
on the day of completing the D Visa application, after
receiving the deposit slip from the Austrian Embassy.
D Visa Pick-Up
After the above application materials are submitted on
the assigned Appointment Day, the visas will be ready to
pick up the following Tuesday, between 8:30 and 9:00 am.
Please do not report to the Embassy at any other time to
attempt to collect your visas.

Additional documents (court, work, etc.) pertaining to
your refugee claims (original & English)

Divorce certificates for all previous marriages (Farsi &

Death certificates for any deceased spouses (Farsi &
English)

Notarized letter of Consent from spouse in Iran to take
minor child to USA, if applicable (Farsi & English)
Your processing will be delayed if you cannot
provide these documents upon registration at the
Vienna OPE. Please try to ensure that all English
translations of above documents are consistent in
their transliteration of all names and birth date
conversions from the Farsi originals into the
English translations. If spellings of names and
dates of birth are not consistent, delays will
result. We advise making sure the English
translation spelling of your name and birth dates
matches your current passport, which is considered
your primary form of identification for the program.
